🔧 How It Works
What are the steps from diagnosis to install?
Lula diagnoses the water heater and confirms a replacement is needed.
The job is assigned to you — with no fees taken from your labor cost.
You receive the job details so no pre-trip is required.
A flat-rate labor agreement is set for the install (gas or electric).
Lula orders and prepays for the equipment — a PO is ready for pickup near the job or your HQ.
Your team completes the installation the next day.
How do I start receiving these jobs?
Complete the Water Heater Replacements sign-up form. You will set your flat rates as part of the form, and the Lula team will follow up to get you into the assignment rotation.
Who pays for the water heater?
Lula does. Lula orders and prepays for the equipment, and a PO is ready for pickup near the job or your HQ. You never front the cost of the tank.
What does Lula supply?
Lula supplies the water heater tank only. Everything needed to install it should be covered by your flat rate — see below.
💰 Pricing Guidelines
The more competitively priced you are, the more volume you will receive.
What is the average flat rate?
$400 average — water heater replacement, gas or electric
Where do I submit my flat rates?
You set them on the Water Heater Replacements sign-up form. If you need to change your rates later, email pro@lula.life.
What should my flat rate include?
Lula supplies the tank. Your flat rate should include:
Pickup, installation, and haul-away
Labor for basic code upgrades:
Expansion tank
Drain pan
Supply lines
⏱️ Turnaround Expectations
How quickly do I need to be available?
You must be generally available for next-business-day turnaround if approval comes before 3 PM local time.
How many trips should the install take?
All installs must be completed within one trip unless unforeseen events arise.
What if I need additional funds once I am on site?
Call Lula while you are still on site. Do not leave and come back — we will work it out with you in the moment.
📋 NTE (Not-To-Exceed) Expectations
What if the job needs more than the agreed amount?
You will have a $125.00 NTE for miscellaneous materials (drain pan, expansion tank, etc.)
Can I mark up parts?
No markup on parts cost. Parts are billed at cost.
📝 Permits & Warranty
Can I pull the permit myself?
Permitting is handled for you at no cost through Lula's partnership with PermitFlow. See Lula x PermitFlow Partnership for how that works.
Is a labor warranty required?
Yes — a 1-year labor warranty is required on all water heater replacement installs.
