Overview

AskLula is an AI-powered Slack bot designed to answer questions about existing jobs directly inside your shared Slack channel with Lula. It provides fast, self-serve visibility into job information using the data Lula currently has on file.

Important: AskLula is conversational and only provides information. It cannot take actions on jobs.


How to Ask Questions

1. Always Tag the Bot in the Shared Channel

Every message intended for the bot must include:

@asklula

If the bot is not tagged, it will not respond. It also has to be in the channel shared with Lula.


2. Start a New Thread With a Job Number

To ask a question about a job, you must:

  • Start a new thread

  • Tag @asklula

  • Include the job number in the question

Accepted job numbers:

  • Lula job number (preferred)

  • Your internal job number (if Lula has it stored)

Examples:

@asklula what is the status of 12341-1?
@asklula D428BE5 has the pro arrived?

This allows the bot to correctly identify the job you’re asking about.


3. Ask Your Question

Along with the job number, you may ask:

  • Status updates

  • Scheduling details

  • Work order summaries

  • Service notes or activity history

  • General job-related questions

You can phrase questions naturally.

4. Follow-Up Questions

All follow-up questions must:

  • Stay in the same thread

  • Tag @asklula on every message

Example:

@asklula can you confirm the ETA?

Starting a new thread or omitting the tag may prevent the bot from responding correctly.


5. Escalate if Needed

If AskLula cannot fully answer a question based on the data available, it may respond with:

“Would you like me to have our team reach out to discuss this with you?”

If you would like a human follow-up:

  • Keep @asklula tagged in your response and eply yes in the same thread

  • OR tag @channel OR tag a Lula team member directly

AskLula will then flag the request so a Lula team member can follow up directly.

If you do not need follow-up, no action is required.


What AskLula Can Do

  • Answer questions using existing job data

  • Summarize job status and history

  • Clarify what has happened so far on a job

  • Escalate visibility if explicitly requested


What AskLula Cannot Do

  • Make changes to a job

  • Cancel or reschedule work

  • Update job details

  • Dispatch or reassign pros

  • Share personal information

  • Share pricing information

AskLula does not take action—it only provides information.


Requesting Action or Changes

If you need to:

  • Cancel a job

  • Reschedule service

  • Update job details

  • Request operational changes

Please tag the channel or a Lula team member directly.

The bot may acknowledge the request, but a human must handle all actions.


Best Practices

  • One job per thread

  • Always include a job number in the first message

  • Always tag @asklula

  • Keep all related questions in the same thread

  • Loop in a Lula team member for anything that requires action

  • The bot only remains active for one hour. If you come back to that thread more than an hour later, you will need to start it over
